Jakub Woroniecki, IT Support Specialist at GFR Tech Ltd, brings a unique background - from his early days as an electrician to his current role keeping complex systems running smoothly. -
What advice would you give to someone just starting out?
Start small, document everything, and over-communicate. Pick one task, build a fool proof checklist, and share it with the client before they ask. That first “You read my mind” moment turns into repeat work and glowing reviews.
-
How do you define success in your current position?
ISuccess is turning “I’m stuck” into “I’ve got this” in under 10 minutes. It’s a clean inbox with zero urgent flags, an Excel sheet that answers questions before they’re asked, and a client who trusts me to handle it without babysitting. Quiet confidence and zero stress - that’s the goal.
-
How do you inspire or mentor others on your team?
Do it once, do it right, and leave it better than I found it. I prioritise accuracy over speed, document every step so anyone can pick it up, and always ask, “Will this save the client time tomorrow?” That mindset turns one-off fixes into lasting systems.
-
What’s one change you’d like to see in your industry?
I’d love to see plain-English IT documentation become the standard - every tool, update, or process explained like you’re telling a friend over coffee. Too many users get stuck because manuals read like legal contracts
simple guides with screenshots and “why this matters” would cut support tickets by half and make tech feel approachable, not intimidating.
-
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone building expertise?
Attention to detail, fast learning, and empathy (understanding why a user’s “urgent” really feels urgent). They let me deliver accurate fixes quickly while keeping people calm and happy.
-
Who or what played a key role in your success story?
An injury forced me off the tools as an electrician, so I used the downtime to refresh my IT college skills and build a freelance VA profile. What could’ve been a career setback became the launchpad for work I love. Now I help clients avoid their own “downtime” with bulletproof systems.
-
What lesson from your first job still guides you today?
My first job was as an electrician, and the golden rule was “measure twice, cut once.” I still apply that to IT: double-check settings before hitting save, test a backup before a big change, and always document the process. It prevents disasters, saves hours of troubleshooting, and keeps clients (and me) calm.

What’s one thing people should know about your role or your work?
I’ve always been passionate about IT and technology. The constant learning, helping people, and breaking down complex terms with everyday examples like comparing a computer network to a busy road system.
After years as an electrician (which started by accident), I was hesitant to switch full-time until an injury and operation side-lined me for months, giving me the push to refresh my college IT knowledge and dive into support roles. Now, I love a job that’s also my passion - it keeps burnout at bay and lets me thrive while solving real problems for others.
